Here’s the thing, I love going to cemeteries. Mostly small, semi forgotten ones. You know when you take the long way home and go down a road you’ve never seen before and think “where does that go?”. I love that feeling. Especially if suddenly there is a clearing with a small church and grave yard. I have always been interested in genealogy and local history. For me it has been difficult to find my own ancestors because of a lack of records for slaves, forgotten cemeteries, and not great census records. I have been helped by people going to cemeteries and courthouses over the years and I do the same in return. Although no one has asked for exactly this yet, one day someone might go looking for this information, for their own family, and it will be there. I try to stay focused on small cemeteries, and often those that are African American (they are often the most neglected when it comes to online resources).I will add pictures, locations, and any history I find.
